ON-SITE Housing & Camping

For those students staying on-site for the week, tuition includes the entire program, lodging/camping and three daily meals. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals are available upon request. All cabins are shared with approximately six-eight people, and separated male/female. Gender inclusive cabin available upon request. Please email our office at info@livingjazz.org to request this cabin. All cabins are on a first-come, first-served basis.

There are two choices of on-site cabins, and two camping options:

SARAH VAUGHAN CABINS

These cabins house 6 people and contain 5 built-in bunk beds (each person gets both top and bottom bunk) and one bunk that has only a top bed. The cabin includes a shared bathroom with shower. The single bunk has a separate space for belongings. All bunks are taken on a first-come basis the first day of camp.

THELONIOUS MONK CABINS

These cabins come in a variety of sizes, containing 6-8 bunk beds (each person gets both top and bottom) with central bathroom facilities close by.

GLAMPING

A limited number of family size tents will be conveniently set up for you on a private ball field (Wasiata side of camp). This is a very popular option at camp. Reservations are taken on a first-come basis. Each tent will be ready for you with a cot and mattress, small table and battery operated lantern. Bathroom facilities are close by. You only need to bring bedding.

CAMPING

The redwood setting provides a host of tent camping opportunities. Campers provide their own camping gear. Please Note: You are also welcome to bring a small camper or RV. However, Jones Gulch is not an actual campground and there are absolutely no hook-ups. Tents, campers or small RV's will park on either of the 2 ballfields on site. We do not offer electricity.

RENT-A-TENT CAMPING PACKAGE

Comes with: 4 person tent (sleeps 1 comfortably), cot, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, lantern with charging port, camping chair.

Includes use of all site facilities: bathrooms with showers and all camp meals and pool access. You will be able to drive your car close to the campsite to unload and then move your vehicle to a designated parking area.

Many thanks to Sports Basement for their support of Jazz Camp West.

Non-Residential Options

COMMUTING

Our Commuter tuition includes all three meals and snacks.

SIDEN CONFERENCE CENTER

Siden Conference Center at Redwood Glen Camp is a wonderful option for those preferring private single or double rooms. Only a 5-minute drive from Jones Gulch, Siden Conference Center at Redwood Glen Camp has beautiful rooms, each with two double beds, private bath with shower, and patio. In addition to the Jazz Camp commuter rate, you will also be charged a fee for the current rate for 7 nights at Siden. If interested in sharing a room (each room has two double beds) there is a separate charge per person.

If you are interested in staying at Siden, please check  “Siden Single or Double " on your enrollment form. These Siden rooms are very popular and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. There are only 22 rooms total at Siden, so if interested, enroll immediately to reserve your room. They go fast!

Bed & Breakfasts and State Camp Grounds

La Honda and the surrounding area have a limited number of Bed and Breakfasts. There are also a couple of public campgrounds. We encourage you to get the most updated information to explore your options for staying off site

“I just want to extend my personal gratitude for everything you have done for the Living Jazz community, and for me personally over the years. Living Jazz has made a huge difference in my life. It has become a community full of friends that I love dearly, and your programs have played a huge part in the development of my love for music and jazz.”
