MAKING WAVES

We reached our $40,000 goal!

We are profoundly grateful for outpouring of generosity and support from the Living Jazz Community.

Thank you.

In 1984, Living Jazz introduced the first Jazz Camp West, and the impact has been rippling through time ever since.

Our organization has been making waves through impactful programming that serves our community at every stage of life.

At Living Jazz, we believe that transferring knowledge, wisdom, and values across generations is vital to preventing fissures in our belief systems and maintaining the gardens of mutual respect.

Our programs connect youth with teen leaders, emerging artists, and elders, in East Bay public schools and at our camps. Our tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., In the Name of Love, showcases them all on one stage, broadening perspectives, mediating differences, and cultivating deep respect for lifelong learning.

“What I and my family love and appreciate most is the intergenerational component that lies at the foundation of this organization, both internally as well as in the marvelous programming.

As the new generations are increasingly under the spell of the latest phones, games, online distractions, and violent reality, this work of connection and love is nothing less than urgent.”
